Bennett Great performances and sound and a lovely freewheeling vibe to the thing. Made me think of Laura Nyro but there's a lot more to it than that.

Fading 02:42
Fading How do you vilify the meek When bravery's got its head in the ground Ass up Catch up to what's important How do you crucify the weak When no-one's set a bar What brawn should weigh, I see your strength is fading Fading...OUT Hearts are churning Gently burning Souls are out to make a dime Remind yourself of who you are and Who that someone else might be. The times that a baby's cries are heard, Is that worth more than The times than an addict's cries are heard? What's more important? The times that a rich man suffers, Is that worth much more than The times that a poor man somewhere else Is slowly fading Fading...OUT Hearts are churning Gently burning Souls are out to make a dime Remind yourself of who you are and Who that someone else might be.

Landfall 03:49
Landfall One time I was a sailor Travelling the world And I saw the world blind Hidden from view Was a world before me. One time I was a traveller Sailing the world And I loved the world blind Hidden from view Was a world after me. But the wind blows my face And a change rides its back along the way The crew changes course With a course of nostalgia for a life twice lived And every landfall brands all Life but a dream And as the breeze blows I go Gently down the stream. One time I knew a sailor Choking on air Choke on despair with every breath he tried. Hidden from view was a world before him. One time I saw this sailor Travelling the world He was my hero at the time Hidden from view was his world after me. Now the wind blows my face I remember the man he used to be But see excuses he uses To frame his corrupt reality Now every landfall he falls Out of a dream And every nightfall takes him Gently down the stream.

Almost in Mexico Wearily, Pray tell me what you're hiding away Wearily, Share with me what you're hiding today Are you drawn to the night? Streetlights gleam from the tiny hamlet below. Are you drawn to the sun? On my left, rising higher, higher, And on and on and on Are you drawn to the moon, lady? Phantasmic, illuminated, cacti loom A little taller than I. Am I asking too soon, baby? I'm bound for Mexico I've got to go. Are you drawn to the night? “Turn the lights off,” you whispered hot in my ear. Are you drawn to the dark? Cast my mind to the times we lost one another 'Neath a perfect sky Are you drawn to the ocean, lady? Pounding upon the sand, I've nearly landed in a spiritual low. Am I asking to soon, baby? Almost in Mexico, Don't let me go! Wearily, Pray tell me your biggest regret. Wearily, Share with me what you'd rather forget. (Well) I didn't mean it Dunno what happened I was lonely and I found someone to rest with. I didn't know her I didn't love her But I sacrificed the love I'd come to nest in. And though the years trudge on I find I still sing alone. And though the years trudge on, I find I still sing alone. But are you drawn to the light? I find life in the brightest secrets of night. Are you drawn to the dark? I find love when Sonoran skies have been painted On and on and on. Are you drawn to the ocean, lady? Pounding upon the sand, She understands me a little better than I. Am I asking too soon, baby? I'm fine, I feel alive, I share with you.

Shifting 06:19
Shifting Feel how the wind still blows Solemn oaks keep growing And the songs come flowing Hide, hide me from the silence Feel how my cheeks are aching Smile when I'm close to breaking And the words fall empty Shelter, shelter from the silence Times have gone and times will come When I might hope it stays like this, it stays like this… Times have gone and times will come When I might wish it's never this, it's never this again... It's never this again It's never this again Backed into a corner Scared to breathe, scared to think Scared to speak at all I'm not you You're not me What monsters are we? Hiding in the space between The good and ugly Scared to peek at all What is safe? What is home? Silence is golden. Help me antagonise my mind I'll help you to scrutinise your soul Let's be the heroes and then let's act the villains In this gruesome play-by-play With the guilt I'm gonna carry I'll torment the visions in your brain Let's customise the very beasts That can ruin and can save Turn another page Love feebly 'til the new day Remember what went down How can it mean anything In the light of the morning? Strip the cupboards bare. The silence rings in empty air Unravel what went down How can you undo anything You've shrouded in the silence?

Lost 03:20
Lost Lost They promised us a lion's share But as we rose through the ranks we found The bounty that they'd guaranteed Just wasn't there anymore. Before the thanks escaped our lips we noticed That this Promised Land was all but run into the ground, The rubble but the ghost of modern lore. How do we construct our lives? We're drowning in the answers But the questions have been swallowed in time. Before the shock can register We grasp around so violently to figure who we are, Mapping wastelands never lived before. Where do we find ourselves When the elders at the top don't stop but to reload? It's a memory of plenty for a twenty-something's time. To anyone involved there's an unfamiliar road That must be laid by the blind and frightened left behind. They promised us that fighting fair Wouldn't disadvantage anyone But as we rose through the ranks We found a bleak and lonely plight. We are a generation of collective isolation Felt by all, all felt by none. How do we find ourselves When the elders at the top don't stop but to reload? It's a memory of plenty for a twenty-something's time. To anyone involved there's an unfamiliar road That must be laid by the blind and frightened Left lost

Hand-Picked 03:14
Hand-Picked Sometimes I feel That we are far from perfect. But I let it pan out And curiosity leads me to what I can learn from you, With you, And I find I love the way that you move with me. Sometimes I feel That we've got a ways to go before we're Competent together. But I burning need will lead me from here to you And I'm new But I invest all the best that I can do. And it's because Someday you'll know how my soul sings its song. And some days I notice your soul sing along with mine. It's a feeling that's fine, Hand-picked from a ripening life. Sometimes I feel That our lives are less that certain. Often I'm hurting I'm paralysed, confused and so are you But I know I love the way that you feel with me Someday you'll know how my soul sings its song. And some days I notice your soul sing along with mine. It's a feeling that's fine, Hand-picked The days that we quit the world And insulate ourselves in time Are the days I remember And the times I feel I'm most alive. And on those days, you know how my soul sings its song. And some days I notice your soul sing along with mine. It's a feeling that's fine...

Dolphin 02:44
Dolphin Dolphin Will you leap out from the ocean? I'm feeling Things that tell me that I'm home. Not your kind of home 'Cos I belong in clever little boxes Lined in rows of home. I find my peace in clever little structures Gliding through the waves I see these happenings unfolding Folding Weaving in and Out here on the ocean I might drown in What's this human I've become? When in time did I find myself In clever little boxes Stacked and sterile? What's this person I've become? Do you see reflected in these clever little structures Shades of me? I see these stories drifting Merging with the others, drifting Out here on the ocean Take me home Skim along the surface now Glimmer wet and merry now Slim and lithe and so alive Now take me home. Dip your dorsal, spin around Vagabond, ensnare me now Valentine of history Look how we've grown. Dolphin Won't you leap out from the ocean?

Evacuee 05:14
Evacuee Eyes, look to the skies Summon her presence and let her know I'm frightened, I need help to never look back. Why? That I may never die Keep me safe, lest I disappear Soothe these fears Idle thoughts of a child first leaving home Lady, be kind to me Help me to breathe my liberty I'm tired, Abeona, find me a way. I'd like to learn to fly. Craft my wings and direct my path Draft my maps I'll never turn my back, 'cos tomorrow I'm skipping town on the next train Don't have a forward mailing address Unless Something inside me stirs anew, but I'm Not going back Evacuee, that's me, that's me Hey, I'm a parade A personal passage A pilgrim's tread Abeona, be the mother I never had Breathe a tailwind to lead me by I'll be change and you'll be my ride Muse and guide May I never turn my back, 'cos tomorrow I'm skipping town on the next train Don't have a forward mailing address Unless Something inside me stirs anew, but I'm Not going back Evacuee, that's me, that's me Now I'm dirty and I ain't slept much In mercurial and restless moods Sweet apricity may warm me now But the people with their high-brow blues Look down on me as a vagrant But I'm on my way These weary feet may move me yet this night I trust you, Abeona, partner in flight I, drifting straggler am I Stoned on stardust may down the road Turn to home But until then, I'll be native to anywhere. I'm skipping town on the next train Don't have a forward mailing address Unless Something inside me stirs anew, but I'm Not going back Evacuee, that's me, that's me

Many People 04:37
Many People I have been many people I have been many people As a seedling Feeling round to find a real emotion Take it in, form opinions slowly Look around, let it sink in well And in time you can assess why it's so Oh it's so. I have been many people (I have been so many people) I have been many people (I have been so many people) As a sapling Grappling round to separate emotions Take it in, feel your mind expanding Look around, let it go through hell And in time you'll think it's grand and it's so Oh it's so I'm afraid of what I know and don't So I forge ahead and take it on the nose I have been many people (I have been so many people) I have been many people (I have been so many people) As a growing being I am constantly in motion Take it in, form opinions slowly Look around, let it sink in well And in time you can assess why it's so Oh it's so. I have been many people I have been many people I have been many people I have been many people
