lyrics

I Spy

With my little eye, I spy a sunfish floating on by.
I see that it’s spying right back at me.
With my little eye, I spy the sunlight streaming in from on high,
I sense that it’s spying right back at me.

With my little ears, I hear a tui, singing life a song,
Possessing the voice of a thousand souls.
With my little ears, I hear other birds attempt to sing along,
In spite of their lack of vocal control.

With my little nose, I s’pose the world is leafy at this time,
Seeing as the trees no longer hide the sky above.
And my little nose, I s’pose is drunk on life’s olfactory wines.
I notice the fragrance is brisk, but pleasantly rough.

Will our abundance of senses ever be enough?
What if this earth is just a diamond in the rough?
Or what if this world features the best in planetary stuff?

With my little eye, I spy a sunfish floating on by.
I see that it’s spying right back at me.
With my little eye, I spy the sunlight streaming in from on high,
I sense that it’s spying right back at me.
